Some shoes you chase for years and never touch. That was the Terror Squad Air Force 1 for basically everyone who is not named Fat Joe. The shoe first popped up back in 2023 when Joey Crack wore it on stage, red leather blazing under the stage lights, and sneakerheads everywhere had the same reaction. We need that. Then nothing. For three years it sat in friends-and-family purgatory, one of those pairs you only saw on the feet of Bronx royalty and the occasional grainy IG flex. Now it is finally here.
Nike quietly loaded the Terror Squad x Air Force 1 Low “University Red and White” onto SNKRS this September and it sold through fast. Retail was $150, the SKU is II4391-100, and if you blinked you missed it. I genuinely thought this one was going to stay a myth forever. Plenty of F&F pairs never see the light of day. This one getting a real release feels like a small victory for everybody who grew up on Terror Squad records.

The colorway is the definition of simple done right. White leather base, then University Red crashes the party on the toe box, the heel overlay, and the lace hood. The Swoosh stays red with a clean edge, the laces match, and the outsole goes full red too. It is loud without trying too hard. This is Bronx energy in shoe form. Red and white Uptowns have always hit, and honestly this might be one of the best executions of that combo I have seen in years.

Flip the shoe around and the story gets better. The heel carries an embroidered TS logo for Terror Squad, plus a JC hit that references Fat Joe’s other nickname, Joey Crack. That is the kind of detail that separates a real collaboration from a slap-a-logo-on-it cash grab. Nike let the shoe tell you who it belongs to, and if you know the history you know exactly what you are looking at.

The history here is deeper than most collabs too. This is not the first time Terror Squad and Nike linked up on an AF1, but the earlier pairs from the 2000s were hyper limited friends-and-family joints that basically never circulated. Fat Joe has been one of the most visible AF1 collectors on the planet for decades, a Bronx guy wearing Uptowns before half this generation was born. “Lean Back” came out in 2004 and Terror Squad owned that summer. Now the crew’s logo sits on a retail Air Force 1. That matters.

Wearability is a no brainer. Red overlays on a white base means this thing works with denim, shorts, a Yankee fitted, whatever you want. The leather looks proper in person based on the pairs I have seen posted, the red is saturated without looking cheap, and the standard AF1 tooling means the fit is the fit you already know. My only warning is the usual one for white-based AF1s. Creases show. But honestly, beat-up Uptowns are part of the culture anyway.

Resale is already moving. The shoe released at $150 and aftermarket asking prices are sitting well above retail, which tracks for a pair that spent three years as one of the most wanted unreleased AF1s on the planet. Hype cooled a little once everyone could actually buy it, that always happens, but the ceiling on this one feels high long term. It is a culture shoe with a real story, not a colorway invented last quarter to fill a release calendar.

So what now? SNKRS is done, Nike.com is done, but the aftermarket has plenty of pairs and select retailers still had sizes floating around after release. If you slept on the drop, do not beat yourself up. Three years of waiting means most of us got good at it. Just do not wait another three years on the resale side, because grails with this much history rarely get cheaper.

Bottom line for me, this is one of the most satisfying releases of the year, purely because it actually happened. Fat Joe got his shoe to the people, the Bronx got its flowers, and the rest of us finally get a shot at one of the best red and white AF1s ever made. My girl said I already have too many Air Force 1s. She does not understand. This one is different.
