300 grams. That is the number Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton team built the LV Drop 300 around. Just over 300 grams for a luxury sneaker. I had to double-check that figure when I first read it.
Unveiled July 2026. Retro running shoe DNA updated with technical fabrics and a ripple-patterned sole. Pharrell has been pushing LV’s sneaker program hard since taking the creative director role. This is the statement piece from that push.
The weight, or lack of it, is the headline. You can wear this shoe all day and not think about it. But the technical ambition goes beyond being light. The materials, the construction, the way everything fits together. Louis Vuitton saying they can do performance, not just luxury.
The ripple sole is functional and aesthetic. Distinctive from every angle, and it provides real grip. The upper uses technical fabrics that breathe and flex. Far cry from the heavy leathers that dominate luxury sneakers.
Pharrell called it LV’s “most technically ambitious sneaker yet.” He is not overselling it. Sportswear engineering and luxury craftsmanship sitting in the same shoe. Could only happen at LV under his direction right now.
