The Hare Jordan theme is one of my favorite pieces of sneaker history, and now little kids can get in on it. This Air Jordan 1 Mid SE celebrates 30 years of Space Jam, which means Bugs Bunny color DNA on MJ’s first signature silhouette in toddler and little kids sizes. The grey base with university red, cool grey and varsity royal accents mirrors the original Hare Jordan 7 colorway that Bugs wore in that classic ad campaign back in the day.

The build is what you want in a kids shoe. Premium materials on the upper, soft cushioning underfoot, and a padded ankle collar for support on small feet. Little kids shoes take a beating, mine certainly did, so having a sturdy mid cut that also protects ankles is the kind of thing parents will appreciate. And from a style standpoint, this is the shoe that started sneaker culture, scaled down to a size that fits a preschooler.

The details are where the Hare identity lives. The tongue carries Hare branding, and there are little nods to Bugs throughout the design if you look closely. The light smoke grey leather keeps the shoe easy to clean, which matters at this age, and the hits of red and royal blue keep it from looking like every other grey kids shoe on the playground.

These released November 5 for $80, which is the sweet spot for a kids Jordan. The adult sizes of this color story have always held value, and the little kids versions tend to disappear quietly once the movie tie-in buzz fades. If you have a small Space Jam fan at home, or you just want the cutest possible version of MJ’s first signature shoe, this is an easy call.
