Nike just kicked down the door with the Air Liquid Max — a brand new silhouette that merges four decades of Air Max heritage with a futuristic design language that looks unlike anything else in the lineup. Inspired by the poison dart frog, this shoe is bold, conspicuous, and unapologetically weird in the best way possible.
The story here is the point-loaded Air technology. Instead of wrapping a big Air bag under the whole foot, Nike engineered a contoured unit that sits low to the ground and places cushioning only where needed. The cored-out negative spaces eliminate excess material and weight while giving the shoe its wild geometric look. Every step feels soft, smooth, and surprisingly stable.
Up top, the mesh upper features three-layer textured printing that adds both structural support and visual complexity. From a distance it looks unified, but up close you can see and feel the layered texture. The launch colorway comes in dramatic green hues with a chrome Swoosh, a shiny seamless finish, and a tinted translucent rubber outsole.
The nano print takes its cues from the poison dart frog — one of nature’s smallest and most dangerous amphibians — using color as a warning system. The toe pads of the frog also inspired design elements. It’s a silhouette that feels a little dangerous, a little mysterious, and completely fresh.

The Air Liquid Max dropped March 26 on SNKRS and select Nike retail partners for $220-$230. If you’re into Air Max innovation that actually pushes the conversation forward instead of rehashing retro colorways, this is the one to watch.
