Nobody talks about the Jordan Heir Series 2 and I think that’s a mistake. This Light Iron Ore colorway, style code HV4417-002, quietly released November 4th and it’s one of the better-looking team basketball shoes in the line right now. Light grey and silver upper with Fire Red accents, built on a silhouette designed with input from women hoopers who wanted a low, shifty court shoe instead of a brick.
The whole pitch of the Heir Series is staying low to the ground. The drop-in midsole is thicker than you’d expect for the ride, which gives you cushion without the center-of-gravity penalty, and the external cage wraps your foot in a way that feels supportive without lacing yourself into a cast. I’ve seen guards and wings both rave about the traction pattern on clean courts.

The colorway itself does a lot with a little. Light Iron Ore base, Dark Smoke Grey through the midfoot, Metallic Silver on the cage details, and just enough Fire Red on the tongue and branding to keep it from being another grey shoe in the pile. It reads clean on court and it reads fine with jeans after, which is more than I can say for most performance models.
It’s $115 at Nike.com, general release, and at that price it undercuts most signature hoops shoes by thirty to eighty dollars for something that competes on fit and court feel. If you actually play pickup more than twice a week, that math matters.
Will it sell out? Probably not. That’s the point of a sleeper. If you want a performance shoe you can ball in without babysitting a release calendar, this is sitting on the shelf right now waiting for you. I’d take the grey and red over the louder Heir colorways any day of the week.
