Mid hate is played out, and this Air Jordan 1 Mid SE in Racer Blue and Safety Orange is my evidence. Style code IX8481-406 released November 4th, and the color combo feels like a fall sunset got bottled into a sneaker. Racer Blue on the overlays, black through the base, white midsole, and Safety Orange stitching and accents that tie the whole thing together.
What makes this one work for me is the balance. A lot of Mid SEs lately have been either screaming multicolor experiments or tired grey and black repaints. This one splits the difference. The blue is the star, the orange is the garnish, and the black panels give your eye somewhere to rest. It looks intentional, like someone at Nike actually mocked it up more than once.

The build is the standard AJ1 Mid package. Crisp leather overlays, the classic Swoosh, the wings logo on the ankle, and that familiar mid cut that purists complain about and everyone else just wears. The orange hits show up on the heel stitching and the tongue tag, small enough that you notice them on the second look.
At $150 it’s ten to twenty bucks over a standard Mid, which is the SE tax for the color story. It’s live on Nike.com right now in men’s sizing, no draw, no membership wall.
If you’ve been ignoring the Mid line because the internet told you to, this is the pair that makes you look dumb for listening. Loud, well-executed, and actually purchasable. I don’t know what else people want from a Tuesday release.
