The Kobe 8 Protro “Shanghai Fireworks” drops November 11, and it is loud in the best way. Laser Orange base with Cinnabar and Safety Orange accents, style code IO6259-800, $200 retail on SNKRS.

The original Kobe 8 “Shanghai Fireworks” from 2013 was a China exclusive, which instantly made it a grail for everyone who could not get one. The pattern across the Engineered Mesh upper is a fireworks burst over the city skyline. On the 2026 Protro the mesh is upgraded, the cushioning is modern, and the colors somehow got punchier.

Orange Kobes have history. The “Sulfur” pairs, the “Chevron” editions, they all aged into fan favorites. Fireworks leans the same direction, it is a shoe you can spot from across a parking lot.

Resale started around $287 in the core sizes when early listings appeared in September and has since slid to about $250. That is still $50 over retail, but the downward trend is unusual for Kobe product and might mean the supply is deeper than usual. Might.

The 8 Protro is genuinely one of the best playing shoes Nike makes right now, low, fast, cushioned. Even if you never ball in them, the comfort level is worth the $200 alone.

November 11, 10 AM ET. The GS version lands the same morning at $125 if the men’s sizes evaporate.
