Bugs Bunny is the real star of Space Jam, and Jordan Brand finally gave him his due on the Air Jordan 1. The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE ‘Space Jam Hare’ drops November 5 for $140, and it mashes up two of the most famous Jordan 1 stories, the Hare Jordan ad campaign and the movie itself. If you know the history, this shoe is basically a tribute to the origin of the whole Tune Squad universe.
The colorway is where the personality lives. Light Smoke Grey takes the lead on the upper, with University Red and Varsity Royal accents popping against Cool Grey and white panels. That red and royal combination is straight Hare, the same energy as the original 2015 ‘Hare’ 1 Mid but rebuilt with the Space Jam palette. There are Bugs Bunny details tucked into the design, including heel touches that fans of the OG commercials will catch immediately.
Full family sizing is confirmed, which tells me Jordan expects this to be one of the volume sellers of the collection. Mids always get dismissed by purists but the SE builds have been the most creative 1s of the last two years. The materials here feel a step above a standard Mid too, with a mix of leather and textile that gives the grey panels some depth.
This one belongs to a big family. It shares release day with the Air Jordan 11 Retro MCS ‘Space Jam’ cleat, the golf-focused Air Jordan 1 Low G Spiked ‘Space Jam’, the training-oriented Trunner O/S ‘Space Jam Planet’, and the flagship Air Jordan 41 ‘Space Jam’.
At $140 this is also the cheapest entry point into the whole anniversary collection. The GOAT page is already live for it, and I would expect decent demand because the Hare name still carries real weight with collectors who grew up in the 90s. The women’s and kids’ versions give the whole household a way in.
Mark November 5, 10 AM ET on your calendar. SNKRS will have it alongside the rest of the Space Jam wave. Honestly, of everything dropping that day, this might be the one I actually wear the most. Grey 1s go with everything and the cartoon accents are subtle enough to not feel like a costume.
