Union and Nike have a history together. Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 4, Cortez, Field General. They have touched plenty of models and made each one feel like a Union shoe, not a Nike shoe with a tag. The Dunk Low “Bamboo” continues that streak.
The first thing to talk about is the heel. It folds down. Union designed the shoe so you can wear it as a standard Dunk Low or as a mule. Slip it on, step on the heel, walk out the door. That is not a gimmick you see on many Dunks. It works here because the construction allows it without looking forced.
The upper is covered in olive suede. Not leather, not mesh. Suede. That gives the shoe a softer, more tactile feel than your standard Dunk. Exposed stitching near the toe adds a deconstructed touch without going full Union 1985 on it. A small Union tag sits just above the toe. The color blocking is simple and effective.
Color is listed as Bamboo/University Gold-Light Cream. The olive base reads more brown than green in most lighting. University Gold accents add warmth. Light cream breaks things up. It is a fall colorway through and through. This is a shoe that belongs in October and November.
There is also a “Black” pair in the same capsule. Both use the Dunk Low as the base. Union has not overcomplicated either one. No wild patterns, no oversized logos, no multi-color storytelling. Just good materials, a clever heel feature, and strong color choices.

What I appreciate about Union is that they respect the base model. They do not treat the Dunk Low as a blank canvas for self-promotion. They make deliberate, material-driven changes that improve the shoe without erasing what made it good. The fold-down heel is the kind of detail that sounds weird on paper and makes perfect sense on foot.
If you like Dunks and you like wearing them casually, the Bamboo pair is worth the pickup. The mule option is actually useful for quick trips, and the olive suede will age well. Union keeps delivering. This one will not sit.
