BAPE and adidas have history. They have been collaborating since 2014, dropping NMDs, Dame 4s, and various other Three Stripes models with the iconic A Bathing Ape 1st Camo pattern. But the Ultra Boost Camo Pack that dropped on February 2, 2019 is arguably the best thing to come out of that partnership. Two colorways. One Super Bowl weekend release. Pure chaos.

The pack includes two Ultra Boost 4.0 colorways. The green camo (F35097) uses BAPE’s classic 1st Camo pattern in olive green, brown, and tan across a Primeknit upper. The black camo (G54784) goes full stealth with black and grey tones in the same camo print. Both feature a blacked-out Boost midsole, black Continental rubber outsole, and black TPU three-stripes cage. The heel counter reads “ultra boost” in muted gold on the green pair and tonal black on the black pair. Retail was $250 for either colorway.

The timing was no accident. BAPE and adidas tied this release to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, dropping the shoes on February 2nd as part of a larger capsule collection that included apparel and accessories all themed around American football. The collection launched through BAPE accounts, adidas Confirmed, select retailers, and online. The drop strategy was tight. Limited quantities. High demand. You know how this story goes.

What makes the Camo Pack work is that BAPE did not just slap a logo on a stock Ultra Boost. The 1st Camo pattern is woven directly into the Primeknit upper. It is part of the shoe’s construction, not a print applied on top. That gives the camo a textured, almost organic quality that changes depending on how the light hits it. The pattern wraps around the entire upper, from toe to heel, with no breaks or awkward transitions.

The Ultra Boost 4.0 is already one of the most comfortable sneakers adidas makes. Full-length Boost cushioning. Primeknit upper that hugs your foot. Continental rubber outsole for grip. Adding the BAPE camo does not change any of that. These are still a performance running shoe underneath the streetwear paint job. You could legitimately run in these, even though nobody buying them at retail is doing that.

I think the green camo pair is the standout. The black version is clean and definitely easier to wear with more outfits, but the green 1st Camo is the pattern that made BAPE famous. Seeing it on an Ultra Boost just feels right. The olive and tan tones pop against the blacked-out midsole and cage. It is one of those shoes that looks better in person than in photos because the camo details get lost in product shots.

Resell on these has stayed strong since 2019. The limited release numbers and the BAPE tax mean pairs on StockX and GOAT regularly go for double or triple retail. The Amazon listings sometimes have stock if you know your size, but prices there reflect the secondary market too. If you find a pair at a reasonable price, do not sleep on it. BAPE x adidas collabs do not restock.

The Camo Pack solidified BAPE and adidas as one of the better ongoing collaborations in sneakers. Not every drop they do together hits, but when they get it right, they get it really right. The Ultra Boost Camo Pack is a high point. Two clean colorways, great materials, and a pattern that actually means something in streetwear history. That is a winning formula.
