Halloween delivered this year, and not just in candy form. The Air Jordan 14 Retro “Forest Green” dropped on October 31 for $215, and I honestly did not expect to be this into a pair I never owned back in 2005. This colorway was part of what I still call the lifestyle era, when Jordan Brand stopped dressing every shoe like a Bulls away game and started having fun with the palette.

The build is simple in the best way. White leather carries the body of the shoe, and the Forest Green lands on the midsole, the tongue, and a handful of accents around the profile. In some light that green reads almost black, which gives the pair a sleeper quality I appreciate. Nothing screams for attention, but people who know will know.

The 14 itself deserves more respect than it gets. It is the last signature shoe Michael Jordan wore on court for Chicago, the model he laced for the Last Dance run. Tinker Hatfield modeled the shape after MJ’s Ferrari, so the sharp lines and the low cut are not random. They are the whole point.

This is the first retro of the Forest Green since its original 2005 run, a 21 year wait for the people who missed it the first time. On top of that, Jordan Brand added grade school sizing for the first time ever on this colorway, priced at $155, so the younger crowd gets a crack at it too.

Materials feel like the standard modern retro fare. The leather is decent, the cushioning is the usual Zoom Air setup in the heel and forefoot, and the fit runs fairly true. If you want a piece of mid 200s Jordan history that does not cost resale fortune money, this is about as clean as it gets.

Resale was sitting around $199 on StockX shortly after the drop, actually under retail once fees shake out, which tells me this is a wear it, do not flip it type of release. I am fine with that. Some shoes should end up on feet.

If you slept on the October 31 release, do not panic. The style code 487471-300 is still floating around retail and resale channels, and this is not a colorway that got instant grail pricing. Grab your size, beat them up a little, and enjoy one of the more underrated models in the whole Jordan lineup.
