Nike has used glow on Foams before but this premium version takes it further with a cleaner daytime look that transforms at night.
Style code is IV6246-100. Retail sits around $250 which is standard for Foamposite One releases at this point. These are not cheap but they never have been. The Foamposite line has always carried a premium price tag and the people who buy them do not flinch at it.
What I like about this colorway is that it works as a clean white shoe during the day. Most glow in the dark releases look like novelty items. This one passes as a legitimate lifestyle shoe until the lights drop. Then the glow takes over and it becomes a completely different shoe.
The Foamposite One silhouette has been around since 1997. Penny Hardaway’s signature shoe has survived every trend cycle in sneaker culture. Chunky shoes came and went. Dad shoes had their moment. The Foamposite One just kept being the Foamposite One. That is what a real silhouette does. It does not need trends to justify its existence.
