The Air Max 95 is one of those shoes that lives or dies by its material choices. The classic gradient mesh versions look great when they are clean and fall apart fast when they are not. So when Nike decides to build an AM95 with a mostly suede upper for Fall 2026, I pay attention. The IZ6187-032 is not just a color swap. It is a material rework that makes the shoe better suited for the season.
Most of the upper is covered in shaggy suede. That is the headline here. Lighter Phantom and beige tones sit up top, while olive and brown shades take over the lower layers. A Dark Hazel stripe runs through the middle and gives the shoe most of its contrast. The layering works because the AM95 was designed with multiple panels from the start. The suede fills those panels naturally.
Dusty Olive shows up around the laces and lower side panels. Yellow Green, which is close to Volt, is used sparingly on the heel Swoosh, tongue branding, and details near the visible Air units. I like that Nike kept the Yellow Green restrained. A full Volt treatment would have fought with the earthy suede tones. As accents, they pop without taking over.
White lace loops and lining break up the darker tones without changing the overall earthy direction. The brown midsole sits above a black rubber outsole, with an olive section through the midfoot. The familiar Air Max 95 cushioning stays in place with visible Air in the forefoot and heel. None of the performance changes. It is the same shoe underneath, just wearing a completely different outfit.
What I like about the suede build is how it changes the shoe’s personality. The AM95 has always had a sporty, almost futuristic feel thanks to the layered design and visible Air units. In suede, it gets more rugged. More outdoor. More fall. It feels like a shoe you would wear with a heavy flannel and jeans on a cold morning, not something that belongs in a summer rotation.
At $190, the price reflects the material upgrade. Standard mesh AM95s typically sit around $160 to $170. The suede construction adds $20 to $30, which is fair given the material cost and the fact that you are getting a shoe that will wear differently and arguably age better than mesh. Suede develops character. Mesh just gets dirty.
The Fall 2026 release window makes sense. This is not a summer shoe. The color palette is built for the season, and the suede upper is something you want in cooler weather. Wearing suede in August heat is asking for trouble. In October, it feels right.
The colorway is listed as Phantom Grey, White, Dark Brown, Grey Olive, and Volt. That is a lot of colors on paper, but in practice the shoe reads as brown and olive with lighter tones up top and small hits of Yellow Green. It is more cohesive than the color list suggests. Nike’s product team did a good job making five colors feel like two or three.
If you are an Air Max 95 person who wants something for fall, this is an easy call. The suede changes the feel enough to justify owning it alongside a standard pair, and the color palette is versatile enough to wear with most cold-weather fits. IZ6187-032. $190. Fall 2026. Keep an eye out.
