Anthony Edwards is having a moment right now, and adidas is making sure nobody forgets it. Between the AE 3 signature launch and the mule that drops alongside it, they are also keeping his Superstar line moving. The latest is the “Cold Blooded” colorway, and I have to say, the execution is better than I expected.

The color story is simple but effective. Clear Blue covers most of the upper, with Tech Grey Metallic details adding contrast throughout. Cloud White rounds it out on the midsole and accents. The light blue is supposed to represent the cold, and it does. This thing looks like it was left outside in a Minnesota January.
That is the connection point. Edwards, Minnesota, cold-blooded. His on-court personality has always had that edge, and adidas has been leaning into the theme across his whole line. The AE 3 launches with a similar icy vibe, so the Superstar “Cold Blooded” is the lifestyle counterpart to the performance shoe. Makes sense.

My favorite detail on this pair is the shell toe. Usually the Superstar has that textured, slightly pebbled rubber front. On the “Cold Blooded,” adidas swapped it for a smoother, glossy, semi-translucent rubber. It gives the toe a different feel. Almost like the shoe is frozen over. Small change, big impact on the overall look.

The silver detailing is more subtle than I thought it would be from the first images. It catches light in a way that keeps the blue from feeling flat. Nothing flashy. Just enough to break up the monochrome blue and give the shoe some depth.

At $110, the price point is fair for a Superstar collaboration. You are getting a recognizable silhouette with enough custom detailing to separate it from a general release. The semi-translucent shell toe alone makes it feel more premium than a standard Superstar. That is the kind of detail that usually gets left for $150+ shoes.

The rest of the shoe stays close to the familiar Superstar shape. If you like how the Superstar fits and wears, this will not surprise you. It is the same foundation with a fresh coat of paint and one structural tweak up front. Sometimes that is all you need.

September 18 is the drop date. Same day as the AE 3 launch. adidas is going all-in on Edwards that week, which tells you how much stock they are putting in his brand. The Superstar line gives him a presence outside of basketball performance, and the “Cold Blooded” colorway is the kind of shoe that works whether you follow the NBA or not. It just looks good.
I like that adidas is keeping the Superstar in Edwards’ rotation rather than going all-in on just the signature line. The Superstar is a cultural icon. Connecting it to a young star who actually has personality is smart. The “Cold Blooded” theme works because it is rooted in something real, not just a color story someone made up in a meeting room.

LA7828. Clear Blue, Tech Grey Metallic, Cloud White. $110. September 18, 2026. If the AE 3 sells out fast and you still want a piece of the Edwards drop, the Superstar “Cold Blooded” is a solid consolation prize. Honestly, it might be the better everyday shoe depending on what you are after.
